Jeff spent most of his life surrounded by the corn fields of Iowa. Wanting something completely different, he moved to Berlin in 1994 after receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree, and worked for German architects for 3 years during the post-wall building boom. There, God changed his life and called him to youth ministry, and he studied at seminary in Columbia, South Carolina, where he met Suzanne. He feels most at home in Berlin, loves the arts, sports, and traveling with his wife, and is currently obsessed with German board games.

Suzanne Allers, a North Carolina native, grew up in a Christian home and graduated from Erskine College with a Psychology degree in 1988. During her senior year at Erskine, she felt God calling her into international mission work. God’s call was confirmed after she participated in several short term missions trips to Mexico, Canada and the Appalachian Mountains. She spent several years working as the Director of Christian Education at Pisgah ARP Church and Pinecrest ARP Church in youth and children’s ministry. While earning her Masters in Christian Education at Columbia International University, Suzanne visited Team Berlin and felt a strong call to serve God there. She moved to Berlin in 1998, and married Jeff in 2000.

The Allers now serve in the Prenzlauer Berg ministry area. They have twin boys, Ben and Sam (8/11/2006).
